Top 5 Detective Movies

Steve

5. Broken Flowers—Bill Murray gets a mysterious letter telling him his son may be trying to find him. So he travels trying to find who could be the mother of his son.
4. Memento—Great detective flick that explains the helplessness of finding the truth.
3. The Usual Suspects—Best story of detectives trying to do their jobs.
2. Brick—A great high school detective movie beautifully created by Rian Johnson who next movie should be nothing less than pure gold.
1. Gone Baby Gone– A Perfect movie. Has just come out and its already on my Top 5 of the Year (and maybe of all time).

5. Pink Panther (1963) — I think the definitive Detective comedy. Peter Sellers was great with all of the gags that happened through out the movie.
4. Die Hard / Lethal Weapon—Two of the biggest Action films to come out of the late 80’s. Its no doubt that here we see the badass side of detectives.
3. The Fugitive— Tommy Lee Jones wanting to search every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in the area shows his commitment to finding Harrison Ford.
2. Brick— A high school boy plays the role of detective and searches for his ex girlfriends killers and the motives behind her death. One of the best debut films ever.
1. The Usual Suspects—Ok, mostly not a “Detective” film, but Chazz Palminteri plays a detective integrating Kevin Spacey who re-counts the story several murders. One of the greatest movies ever.
