Two "Indie Romantic Dramedies"





I have conflicting views on the term that people have given the "independent romantic dramadies". The name is suitable I suppose but "dramadies" seems...dumb? Regardless my favorite movie ever (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) would fit into the said catagory, as would Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Both of these movies seem phenomenal. Breaking Upwards has the hip soundtrack along with unheard of stars and some pithy dialouge, but more importantly seems to be more drama than comedy. But 500 Days of Summer seems to be this years "Juno" as much as I hate the comparison. It has the B-list stars and has the "Intentionally-Indie" vibe we've seen recently. As much as I'd like to knock that style though, it hasn't failed me yet...oh wait...The Wackness. Grades for Both- A-
