Don't Fix What Ain't Broke

Why Hollywood WHY!!! Two great movies were announced that they're being "remade". The twist? Both movies were made in the past 10 years.

Death at a Funeral - If you haven't seen it yet I don't know what your doing here, GO RENT IT. It's hilarious "Wacky" fun. But anyways the movie never hit a major market and was only in limited release in its time in the US. Chris Rock plans on remaking the movie with a largely African-American cast and in a more urban environment. If he does the movie justice, which he won't, then I'd be fine with this decision.

Oldboy - Again, GO SEE IT. It's one of the best films ever to come out of the east. Now Spielberg and Will Smith are pretty much set to get this film going. Mark my words, I WILL NEVER SEE IT. Probably. I mean...if its GOOD, then maybe I'll see...it...

Ratner does Guitar Hero Commerical

Brett Ratner, everyone's favorite hack, has just done this Guitar Hero: World Tour commerical...it's not...terrible? Aside from the fact any director could have done this the commercial ain't half bad. It features Michael Phelps, Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, and Alex Rodriguez all playing the new Guitar Hero equipment. This doesn't change my opinion on Ratner, it just enforces it.

Brett Ratner's Career Found In Toilet

I'm kidding but seriously Brett Ratner ruins things. He makes bad movies and for some reason continually tries to kill excitement for people that like going to the theater. If you remember a couple of weeks ago, he announced that he was interested in Guitar Hero: The Movie. He also wanted to direct God of War the Movie. First of all, Video Game movies do NOT fare well with anyone. WHY WHY WHY would you want to make video game movies then? Let good, established directors take care of ruining their careers because Brett Ratner has already done that many times. X-Men 3 is not a terrible movie in the slightest, but it is MUCH worse than the previous installments. Remember when he did Rush Hour 1, 2 AND 3. I unfortunately do. Family Man? After the Sunset? No.

The point of this story is not to bash on Ratner at all (even though it's a lot a fun). This week he was rumored to direct a Conan the Barbarian movie. No one is a bigger supporter of that than me... minus the part where he was rumored to direct. Conan is a cool IP and, if given to the right director, could turn out awesome. If Ratner gets his hands on this...*shudder*...I Choose not to think about it.
