National Treasure Book of Secrets by CJ Simonson

National Treasure 2 is a bad movie and there’s no getting around that. But this time around I feel like there are enough improved aspects that a National Treasure 3 might not be painstakingly bad. The addition of Helen Mirren and Ed Harris to the cast made the movie feel more grounded than the first one. We see real life problems involving relation ships going on which gives the movie a sense of realism. The biggest problem in the first one was that everything was too coincidental, and that problem carries over to this movie. Several aspects of the movie are still way to insane (the idea of kidnapping the president, ya right ). As in the first film Justin Bartha plays Nicholas Cages sidekick, and is the only funny part of the movie. This American treasure idea is still insane to me, but maybe the 3rd times the charm. Grade– C-
