Top 5

Seth Rogen - Judd Apatow's right hand man is the #5 on the list, and for good reason. Not only does he have his two big crass cash cows Pineapple Express and Zack and Miri Make a Porno but also is appealing to the kids. Rogen has lent his voice to this years kids movies Horton Hears A Who, Spiderwick Chronicles and Kung Fu Panda. If that's not enough for 08, he also had a cameo in Step Brothers and will appear briefly in Novembers Fanboys. Take a look at all of those movies. There all fairly critically acclaimed.
Viggo Mortensen - Talk about powerhouse actors. Viggo this year doesn't quite have the resume of Rogen, but quality over quantity in my opinion. I didn't care for Appaloosa (see review soon) but HE was still very good. On top of that he has (assuming it doesn't get pushed back like everyone is saying) The Road. Could this be Oscar nod 2? He also has the WWII film Good. All the movies look to have solid performances.

Morgan Freeman - With one movie yet to come out called Thick as Thieves, Freeman started 2008 in the overly mediocre and sappy movie The Bucket List, then went on to be a bad guy in the gun slinger Wanted. Pretty good resume. If Thick as Thieves turns out to do good too, he'll have brought in some cash in 2008. Oh, did I forget? He was also in The Dark Knight. I don't know if you've heard of it. I don't think it made that much money, it was kind of an independent film I guess.

Elizabeth Banks - The actress you've heard of, seen, but still can't put a picture with a face. Well you should. Definitely, Maybe? She was a love interest. W? She played Laura Bush. Meet Dave? Oh...Well no one saw that one...anyways... Still to come this year the actress has Zack and Miri Make A Porno (with Mr. #5 Seth Rogen) and Role Models with Paul Rudd.

Robert Downey Jr. - Well he deserves to be number one for the sole reason of his being Tony Stark AKA Iron Man. Iron Man was a smash as was his cameo as Stark in The Incredible Hulk. He was also in the indie hit Charlie Bartlett. Then he blew everyones mind in Tropic Thunder playing an Australian guy playing a black guy. FINALLY he has The Soloist coming out, which could potentailly give him an Oscar Nod. Go Robert Downey Jr.!
